Yoghurt Treatment for Natural Hair

Treatment For Natural Hair
….Yoghurt and Mayonnaise…

 2 days post Yoghurt Treatment

Yoghurt is great for conditioning your hair, I tend to use it as a protein treatment by mixing it with other ingredients I find in the kitchen. I know it doesn’t sound as appealing, to slather yoghurt onto you hair, but it’s really worth it 🙂 Some of the benefits of using yogurt on natural hair is that it helps with combating dull hair. The shine you get afterwards is incredible!! Its also good for replenishing moisture, combating itchy or dry scalps and hair breakage. The great thing about this treatment is that it’s very versatile. You can make the recipe up as you go along depending on what you’d like your hair to do. You can mix the yoghurt with mayonnaise, coconut oil, egg white, honey, olive oil..the combinations could be endless. Here’s the recipe I used this time round..

Recipe

  1. 1/4 cup Natural Yoghurt
  2. 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  3. 1tbs Honey
  4. A dollop of Olive oil

Method

After doing a co-wash on my hair and detangling, I used the yoghurt treatment recipe above and let it sit in my hair for about an hour before rinsing it off thoroughly and sealing my hair with an oil and doing my normal twist up. It’s that simple!!

I chose to use a simpler recipe because my skin is really sensitive and tends to break out when I put too many different oils on my hair too regularly, so olive oil for me was a great alternative to coconut oil.

Why not try out some homemade hair treatments and discover what treatment your hair is loving…

With Luv xx
